Mr. Jeff Muraida, Director of Bands

Jeff Muraida was born and raised in the Chicago area. Jeff received his BMEd from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago majoring in trombone and minor in percussion and his MMEd from Central Michigan University. He marched with the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps from 1997-1998 as member of the contra (tuba) section. Jeff taught 4th-8th grade band for 12 years in Joliet, IL and 3 years at the high school level in Morris, IL. Jeff professional memberships include Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, NAfME, and MSBOA. Jeff and his family are no strangers to the Northern Michigan area. Becky, his wife, is from Traverse City and graduated from CMU with her degree in music education. Her grandmother graduated from Grayling High School in the 1930's and has family that live in town! Jeff and Becky live in Grayling with their three daughters, Cady (10), Ellie (8), Marian (5), and a golden retriever named Meadow.
